From Architecture to Art

We’re Thomas and Sureen Gouws, a husband-and-wife team who transitioned from architecture to the world of art. With years of experience designing structures and interiors, we’ve always shared a passion for the interplay of form, texture, and simplicity. But amid the precision and deadlines of architectural work, we felt a growing desire to reconnect with something more tactile and personal.

Our journey into art began as a creative outlet—a way to work with our hands and explore ideas beyond blueprints and CAD drawings. What started as a passion quickly evolved into a shared mission: to create minimalistic, architectural-inspired art that brings warmth and serenity to luxury interiors.

Now, through Gouws Art Gallery, we combine our architectural expertise with our love for handcrafted artistry. Each piece we create is thoughtfully designed to complement contemporary spaces, blending clean lines, rich textures, and bespoke craftsmanship.
